#Beethoven250 Day 35
Rondo in E♭ for Wind Octet (WoO 25), 1793?

This short rondo posted by Javier Bonet was originally intended as an Andante for the Opus 103 Wind Octet. It would have come between the existing 3rd and 4th movements.

Barry Cooper notes that “the horns have much greater prominence” in the WoO 25 Rondo than in the Opus 103 Wind Octet, “and the very unusual sound of muted horns just before the end is a particularly lovely effect.” It sounds much like a prompt for an energetic presto finale.
