Another “I Hate Computers” Day
June 4, 2007
Roscoe, N.Y.
Have you ever had one of those days when....
Shortly after breakfast you discover that your Vista partition is insufficiently large to fit the Orcas beta?
You almost completely destroy your hard drive by attempting to make that partition larger?
You decide instead that you'll be spending the morning installing Vista on a new, larger partition?
Moments before the Vista install seems to be completing, it goes out on a blue screen?
At which point the Vista install goes into an infinite reboot/blue screen cycle?
And then your increasing nervousness about the future of your hard drive prompts you to do a backup on a USB drive that takes two hours and only at the very end informs you that there's insufficient room?
And meanwhile, someone wants to send you a file that's too large for an email attachment so you try to define an FTP directory for anonymous uploads?
And you can't get Vista to work with that directory?
And an important phone call that you're expecting on your cell phone can't get through because the Sprint PCS network is "busy"?
And then you get an email from your mother asking "Is there some way to get back something that has automatically gone into the Mailbox?"?
Have you ever had one of those days?
