Unprocessed Film
September 10, 2006
New York, NY
When we saw on the morning news that the second tower had been hit, I grabbed the best camera I had (a Hasselblad 503) and we headed to Washington Square Park. Most of the people in the park, I think, were NYU students who had just started the fall semester and wondering, no doubt, what the rest of the school year would be like. I shot a couple rolls of film and we went back to my apartment.
I never processed the film. The rolls are still sitting in my apartment. I don't even want to touch them. I never took another photograph with the Hasselblad. A couple months ago, I sold the camera and the lenses I had.
I suppose if I ever want any photos of the burning towers, I could go to the street vendors at Ground Zero who sell 9/11 porn to the tourists.
